Boulies Master Office Chair review

May 12, 2023

REVIEW – With coffee as an exception ;-), your chair is probably the most important ally in our employment or gaming experience. Body contour, height, and arm support adjustments are keys to finding a ride that's well-suited for the 8-hour long haul. Boulies Master office chair has what it takes to cradle your keister in comfort.

Boulies Master Office Chair is a comfortable reclining seat with adjustable height and armrests, swivel base, and rolling casters.

The chair arrived in a sturdy box. The chair is heavy-duty and weighs about 48lbs (22kg)

The packaging is excellent. Everything was bagged and protected with foam.

The chair arrived in pieces and needs assembly.

Boulies thoughtfully includes a combination hex wrench and Philips screwdriver, the only tool needed for construction. A few of the miscellaneous parts are contained along with the tool.

Most of the bolts are pre-installed into their locations on the chair. This is an effective mechanism for ensuring all the hardware is in the box and the threads are intact. That's effective quality control! The bolts need to be removed, but it's a small price to pay to know they are all there.

The washers on the bolts are captive so they won't fall off and roll under the kitchen counter while you’re building the chair. Excellent touch!

Assembly construction photos and instructions are great.

Construction took about 30 minutes, starting with attaching the armrests…

The tilt mechanism locks and has adjustable tension…

The swiveling casters in the base permit the chair to zip around smooth floors with ease.

Fitting the hydraulics into the base, then the chair onto the base. When the seat is in position, the chair freely rotates. Weeeeee!

Attaching the chair's back…

And finally the hinge covers.

The completed chair! Let the pigeons loose!

Bonus! A small pillow is included.

The back of the chair reclines… really… really… far. So far that it would be easy to fall asleep in the chair. However, my first time testing the chair's limits, I was surprised at the range of motion and almost tipped myself over. Had I not locked the tilt mechanism, I’m sure I would have gone "ass over teacup." Use caution until getting to know your furniture!

The firmness of the tilt mechanism can be adjusted with a knob and locked with the left lock lever (say that three times fast 🙂 ).

The hydraulic support has a very smooth feel and can be adjusted up or down with the lever on the right.

The armrests are an engineering work of art. They can be adjusted up/down, shifted inward/outward, moved frontward/backward, and twisted clockwise/counterclockwise. I imagine even the most persnickety sedentary creature will find a comfortable position with these babies!

The pillow straps onto the back and provides some support should such a supine state satiate your soul and stimulate your senses such that you succumb to slumber. There you are, poetry!

Both my wife and found the material to be comfortable and warm.

My wife is a seamstress and spends many a day working over her sewing machine and serger. At 4’9" and working as hard as she does, finding a comfortable chair for her has been tricky. With its abundance of adjustments, comfortable fit, lumbar support, and warm fabric, Boulies Master chair fits her (it's sure to fit taller persons equally well!) and has earned a front-and-center position in her sewing room! Thanks much, Boulies!
